Newsletter August 2007

Welcome

Well, it’s easy to tell, by the difficulty in walking in a straight line down the Mile, that it’s August, a month where we find ourselves knee-deep in promo flyers and comedians... and that’s just our office!

News

Amidst all the colourful chaos, we’ve carved a wee path towards 2008, with our contemporary calendar selection. With our 13 month calendar (Dec 07-Dec 08), you can ensure your name’s on your prospects’ desk before anyone else! Look out for more information coming soon!

And, as if that wasn’t exciting enough, we’ve grown from 3 to 4!! Steven Thomson joins us as part of the design team and will also be spotted at an event or two so do say hallo. Team39 now looks like this:

The Simpsons

Meantime, Julie’s been to Sveeeden admiring the wide streets, hospitable people and impressive H&M stores; Lewis has been learning how to dance slowly and avoid standing on toes in readiness for his wedding; Steven has been glued to Forza2 Motorsport on his Xbox to the detriment of marital life. He particularly recommends it for the ability to design the graphics for your cars; Waseem has been to ante-natal classes and is eternally thankful that he’s not the one giving birth!

We’ve been working with a number of trades people recently, including painter and decorators, electricians and upholsterers. We’d love to speak to more business owners in the trades, who are expanding their team or moving to new premises. We’ll create a professional company identity, great-looking van livery and a fresh website, with a view to generating valuable new business.

If you know someone who fits the bill, do pass on our details and/or let Julie know at julie@39stepsstudio.com, tel: +44 (0)131 220 3851.

Hot off the press

Highland Business Research Corporate identity and stationery created for a succssful Inverness based company that provides and interprets business-critical information. The combination of a fresh green and purple created an instantly recognisable Scottish feel and the use of a dynamic abstract motif giving the brand a sense of modernity and vibrancy.

“As a growing company, Highland Business Research knew it had outlived its existing
look and feel, but felt we needed expert input to get a sense of where to go next. 39steps took the time and effort to understand our business, objectives and target market, but it was still a surprise when we saw the visuals to appreciate just how fully they understood what we wanted the branding to achieve. We're thrilled with the results and look forward to working with 39steps again.”

The Bourne Ultimatum

and some more
The Bourne Ultimatum
It’s no coincidence that the last installment of the Bond films seemed to have been influenced by the Bourne Identity/Supremacy, such has been the impact of this thrilling series. And now we come to The Bourne Ultimatum, the very mention of which should bring back memories of THAT car chase through the streets of Moscow in the last film. Jason Bourne having lost his memory and been hunted by the people who created him now only has one objective, to go back to the beginning where it all started to find out who he was. Outsmarting a new-generation of highly trained killers, federal agents and police he’ll stop at nothing to find the answers. It’s a non-stop race around the globe that you won’t want to miss with probably the best spy movies ever made. Expect explosions, fight scenes, car chases, etc. all with Matt Damon’s deadpan everyman expression. Sorry James, there’s a new kid in town and he can’t remember his own name. www.thebourneultimatum.com
