Another year has come and (almost!) gone. Two marriages, a baby, team expansion and lots of creative work all crammed into what was 2007. We’re very much looking forward to the Christmas break to recharge those batteries before returning to what we love doing. In the meantime there’s lots of Christmas lunches to be had. If you’re one of our clients then please don’t hesitate to ask us out, it’d be impolite for us to refuse! But seriously though we’d like to thank all our clients, suppliers, contacts and everyone else out there who we may have rubbed shoulders with or shared a conversation with for playing their part in the continued success of 39steps. And conversely we hope to have played a part in your success too. Here’s to you all and what next year may bring... Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
So, how does Bob Marley like his doughnuts? Wi' Jammin...

This month we’ve mostly been... Julie has been mostly eating mince pies and getting into the spirit (cabinet!) of things. She has also got to grips with her pressure cooker and has mastered the art of homemade soup, albeit she’s the only one who’s willing to eat it!!; Lewis has been playing war games online, and will soon be ready for world domination; Steven’s motorcycling dream is progressing further this month. He has booked himself in for his CBT with City School of Motorcycling and should be able to ride a monsterous 125cc beast with ‘L’ plates before Christmas (Dear Santa...).

When he passes his proper test, he fancies a Triumph Street Triple or new BMW F800 GS, but really he knows it will be a ten year old Suzuki Bandit; Waseem is selling up and moving to Broxburn, the promise of a new-build has proved too tempting. Six week old Ibrahim is now 9lb 4oz and is demanding his own nursery. If you’re in the market for a mid-terraced villa in a highly desirable district of Edinburgh then don’t hesitate to get in touch. All offers will be dealt with discreetly, preferably in brown paper envelopes...;

We’ve been doing plenty of online design of late, for both brochure and e-commerce sites. Our echo package is proving a bit of a hit, so if you, or someone you know wants their emarketing to look as pretty as ours does with a great, functioning website to boot, do pass on our details and/or let Julie know at julie@39stepsstudio.com,

DAFT PUNK – ALIVE 2007
Imagine you had the opportunity to create your Ultimate Daft Punk Mixtape, it probably wouldn’t sound far off from this. Taken from their hometown concert at Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy earlier this year it finds Daft Punk dismantling and reassembling classics from 'Homework', 'Discovery' and 'Human After All'.
The slight disappointment that was the latter album is forgotten as those tracks are thrown into the mix, cut-up, mashed into pieces and layered to give them a new breath of life.
Highlights include ‘Television Rules the Nation’ and ‘Around the World’ seamlessly working together, as does every track from start to finish.
Included is a bonus disc incorporating an encore mash-up that peaks with ‘One More Time’ on top of ‘Music Sounds Better With You’ - a combination so euphoric you’ll suddenly realise why you love music.
There really is something awe-inspiring about the perfection that you’re listening to, you know it’s something monumental, historical, one of those goosebumps and hairs-on-the-back-of-the-neck moments.
Rolling Stone magazine included ‘Alive 2007’ in their Top 25 Live Albums of All Time. To have made it onto a list of exclusively rock acts such as Nirvana, Bob Dylan, The Who, U2 and Jimi Hendrix to name but a few is one hell of an achievement and gives you an idea of how amazing this album is. Buy it, go daft and feel alive! |
