GSL create lighting solutions for commercial premises throughout the UK and act as exclusive agents in Scotland for various global lighting designers. 39steps were asked to create a pop up system banner design to be visually striking and attract potential clients at an event.

We utilised the strong purple for a background over an image of the product with subtle gradiated lines to give the layout dynamic. This was furthered by the use of the waves theme at the foot to put across the dynamic nature of the business and the idea of energy and electronics/electrics.

News

This year is lining up to be a great one for movies. So many releases, where do we start? Well, here’s a small hand-picked selection to begin with...

Fanboys
A road trip comedy about a group of Star Wars fans who travel to Skywalker Ranch to steal an early copy of ‘Episode I: The Phantom Menace’ for their dying friend. Release TBC 2008.

Pineapple Express
The team behind the genius ‘Superbad’ return with an action comedy about a stoner and his dealer who are forced to go on the run from the police after the pothead witnesses a cop commit a murder. Release September 2008.

RocknRolla
Guy Ritche makes his return to the Gangster film. London’s criminal underworld takes notice of a Russian mobster’s shady land deal, a scam that puts millions of dollars up for grabs. We’re hoping for more ‘Lock, Stock...’ and ‘Snatch’ genius. Release Autumn 2008.

James Bond: Quantum of Solace
Forget the strange title and just be thankful that Bond is exciting again after many years of double-entendre-laden dirge. The plot follows on directly from ‘Casino Royale’, as Bond aims to uncover the truth about Vesper, the beauty who betrayed him, and discovers that she had been blackmailed into doing so. All this sets the scene for a good old revenge story. Released November 2008.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
As Harry Potter begins his 6th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he discovers an old book marked mysteriously “This book is the property of the Half-Blood Prince” and begins to learn more about Lord Voldemort’s dark past. Released November 2008.

Angels & Demons
‘The Da Vinci Code’ was such a let down so let’s hope this prequel makes amends. It’s a classic race against time to find a hidden bomb in the Vatican and hunt down a serial killer in Rome. Expect a multi-layered debate about which is to be trusted - science or religion. Release December 2008.

Phew! No time to go into Edward Norton as The Incredible Hulk, yet another Terminator movie and Star Trek XI, directed by Lost’s JJ Abrams...
