39steps are proud to announce that they have been accepted as members of the Design Business Association. The DBA is the trade association for the UK design industry and helps design consultancies achieve high levels of professionalism and excellence by offering a range of industry specific membership services, training courses and events.

39steps always look to achieve the highest standards in creativity and service to our clients, we look forward to using our membership to continue providing these and to continue exceeding your expectations.

We’re currently in the midst of our own little creative brief influenced loosely around the work of Austrian designer Stefan Sagmeister (big cheese in the design world). We’ve decided to create our own individual designs based around a song lyric that means something to each of us. There’s no restrictions on the project so we could very well end up with some ’submerged in formaldehyde’ type nod to the Beastie Boys. Finished work will be presented to each other later this month and we’ll put it up on the blog for you to have your say on our creative outpourings. Be kind.

As mentioned last month we’ve taken on a work experience designer from Napier University. Kimberley has been with us for the past few weeks now and has been busy working away on a number of projects whilst gaining a valuable insight into the inner workings of a design studio. We’re not sure if we’ve scared her off ever becoming a designer but we’ve been well chuffed with the work she’s been producing, more of which we’ll disclose hopefully next month.

Abbott Risk Consulting have asked 39steps to design their upcoming annual report. The publication will highlight ARC’s work as well as their financials and will play a central part in the company’s marketing. The consultancy lead the field in the provision of consulting services and technical recruitment to the defence, transportation, marine and energy sectors. We’ll also be involved in copywriting and photography for the annual report which will be published next month.

39steps have been appointed by Link Community Development to rebrand their organisation and develop materials for the launch of a new initiative. LCD works in partnership to provide better quality education to children and young people in rural communities in sub-Sahara Africa. As well as the new identity 39steps will be creating branding and launch materials for their Link Schools Programme initiative in addition to events material and an annual report. 39steps are delighted to be working with the organisation and look forward to bringing you the results of our creative work soon.
