Julie has been doing a bit of this and doing a bit of that. (Finger tapping side of nose) You ain’t seen me right?

Lewis has been banging on noisy neighbours’ doors, you know who you are! Lewis is also an expert in making silver stars from thick cardboard and now has a star shaped callus just in time for Christmas. Many DIY jobs have been completed from putting up shelves, keyboxes and painting a shed. The next DIY job is going to be soundproofing for all floors and walls, no egg boxes will be harmed!

Waseem has been de-cluttering. Wardrobe, garage, you name it, if it ain’t needed it’s been chucked. There’s almost a zen-like balance been restored at home now…although you wouldn’t know it as Eliza is teething and Ibrahim has discovered that crying can get parents to do whatever you want just to make you stop. Waseem has recently re-discovered the God-like genius that is Ian Brown and dusted off those old CDs, ‘Love Like A Fountain’ in particular has been receiving some heavy rotation. Finally Waseem has been all giddy like a schoolboy at the unveiling of the Iron Man 2 movie poster, featuring sidekick War Machine. Upon picking his jaw up from the floor he started to get cold sweats when realising that the film opens in May, how on earth can he be expected to wait that long! C’mon movie industry, sort it out!

Steven’s finally got round to going for his full motorcycle licence. Avid readers may remember he passed his CBT nearly two years ago. Well it’s going to run out in a couple of weeks so lessons and a test are in progress as we speak. Should he be fortunate enough to pass, then another goal will be ticked off the Thomson achievement list. Should he fail, then motorcycles will never be mentioned again. Let’s hope he fails then (only joking Mr T, best of luck really!)

Emma has spent the last week immersed in cardboard tubes, paper mache and paint - no this is not some weird fantasy of hers (although she did enjoy it!), but merely an attempt to assist her primary school age children with their imminent cardboard tube decorating competition at the school christmas fair this weekend. She has managed to suppress any urges to take over and interfere by decorating her own tube - a rather pathetic looking Santa, filled with sweets, in comparison to both her sons fighter jets (don’t ask how they have managed to turn a cardboard tube into such a fighting machine, although Angus’ does look like it may have flown by a 70’s Disco themed party!). If you’re intrigued, the Clermiston Primary School Christmas Fair is this Saturday (5th), 10am-12noon in the school hall, where all the pupils decorated cardboard tubes (containing sweets) will be sold off at a £1 each to raise funds for the school.

Ros has been using her coaching skills to assist her son when the school team gets beaten on a Saturday morning! Second season and not a win in sight, could this be a world record? Royal High Cougars games and training takes place on a Sunday for the minis section and with the recent Scotland form there has been a surge of positivity and team work. Following a great investment on her bike (boy did it require it) much cycling on a Sunday morning. Just locally, and it’s quite amazing what you see when you lift your head and look above the cement or tarmac! The cycle / walk route from Cramond and all the way to Ocean Terminal is fantastic. Ros has also tested her tablet making skills a) for a dinner party and b) for a jewellery party… the only comment being ‘Mmmmmmmmmmmm’, guess it was good then. The violin has not been out of the box and she will be suitable reprimanded by the ‘teacher’ she thinks. Ros still loves it though.
