39steps were recently appointed, after a three-way pitch, by the Informatics Ventures initiative to create their new website. Established through funding from the European Regional Development Fund, Informatics Ventures seeks to engage Scotland’s high-tech serial entrepreneurs and investors for advice and wisdom. The initiative will support ambitious software startups and contribute a significant entrepreneurship agenda to the Informatics and Computer Science base across Scotland.

Our client, Abbott Risk Consulting, has been recognised by the Sunday Times as one of the top 100 small companies to work for in the UK and was recently featured in their Best Companies supplement. The consultancy lead the field in the provision of consulting services and technical recruitment to the defence, transportation, marine and energy sectors. 39steps have recently completed the design and build of the Thomson Gray website. The Construction Cost Consultancy has become recognised as one of the most successful practices in the East of Scotland in the short time since it was formed, with NHS, University and Local Authority clients forming a key element of the solid foundation of that success. 39steps created the initial branding for the company and have now completed the content managed site for them. Continuing the theme of the very modern and vibrant identity, we created an easy to navigate site that sets Thomson Gray apart from their competitors.

We’re currently in the midst of our own little creative brief influenced loosely around the work of Austrian designer Stefan Sagmeister (big cheese in the design world). We’ve decided to create our own individual designs based around a song lyric that means something to each of us. There’s no restrictions on the project so we could very well end up with some ’submerged in formaldehyde’ type nod to the Beastie Boys. Finished work will be presented to each other later this month and we’ll put it up on the blog for you to have your say on our creative outpourings. Be kind.
