Thomson Gray website goes live
39steps have recently completed the design and build of the Thomson Gray website. The Construction Cost Consultancy has become recognised as one of the most successful practices in the East of Scotland in the short time since it was formed, with NHS, University and Local Authority clients forming a key element of the solid foundation of that success. 39steps created the initial branding for the company and have now completed the content managed site for them. Continuing the theme of the very modern and vibrant identity, we created an easy to navigate site that sets Thomson Gray apart from their competitors.
Congratulations also to everyone at Thomson Gray on recently being shortlisted for the Building Awards 2010, nominated in the category for Construction Consultant/Surveyor of the year.
Festive Froggy Fun

Scottish SPCA asked us to design an invitation and information booklet for their annual Christmas Leap frog fundraising event. The event is aimed at nurseries and is a fun and educational game for kids to take part in.
This project required a number of cartoon frog illustrations and the design of a frog mask for the kids.
Thanks to Bedlam Paintball for lending us a paintball mask to display this on fort the photograph. None of us were up for the embarrassment of donning the green kiddies masks ourselves for fear we would appear more attractive than normal.
Volunteer Centre Edinburgh
We were approached by Paul Wilson, Depute Director at the Volunteer Centre Edinburgh, to handle all design requirements for themselves and have recently designed their Annual Report. Volunteer Centre Edinburgh aims to involve more people more effectively in volunteering to solve real problems and enrich communities. Consistency of brand message is important and that’s exactly what we’ve done for VCE to promote them and their services. Through a number of marketing materials and their recent Annual Report we’ve sought to put their message across in a clear and concise manner.
“After successfully helping us with a range of marketing leaflets I asked 39steps to help me in my panic of preparing our dreaded Annual Report, which of course I had left to the last minute. As always they were great. They immediately got what I needed, made helpful suggestions and came up with a concept for the design that was just right. They put up with my stupid time scale and my last minute changes. Having worked with a range of design companies over the years, the team at 39steps are a real breath of fresh air, willing to help and crucially for me, understanding the specific needs of a small voluntary organisation with grandiose ideas.”Paul Wilson, Depute Director, Volunteer Centre Edinburgh
Scottish Hockey on target
39steps have completed branding for Scottish Hockey’s new ‘Stronger Game’ initiative. The programme aims to promote the game of hockey encouraging long term development within Scotland’s youth going forward onto professional level. We’re about to start on marketing/coaching materials and a folder aimed at coaches and PE teachers and will bring you more news when this is being rolled out.
RJT Excavations web site unearthed
39steps have completed the new website for RJT Excavations. The company have been involved in bulk earthworks and civil engineering for over 20 years. Their modern fleet of over 50 items of heavy plant along with experienced operators and supervisors enables them to tailor plant suitability to any client requirement. A member of the Harte group, RJT approached 39steps having been impressed with the other websites we’ve created for W J Harte Construction and Pennant Plant Hire.
The RJT Excavations site is a fully content managed website, designed and built by 39steps. RJT are able to update all areas of the site themselves and can upload their own case studies as soon as they write them. It’s a great looking, functional site. Job done!
