With Easter almost upon us it’s time for a new edition of The Stockbridge Restaurant newsletter. First things first: we have reduced the prices of our set dinner menus, making them truly credit crunch friendly.

If, like us, you enjoy a meal with friends and family – why not take advantage of our irresistible ‘Fourth person eats free’ offer? Book a table this Spring and pass on this newsletter to share the fun.

Speaking of irresistible, Jane has been delving into dessert wines and has unearthed the perfect tipple to accompany… chocolate!

Easter weekendTry your luck on Easter weekend
Easter weekend is the perfect time for a long, indulgent lunch with the whole family! Join us on Saturday or Sunday when all children under the age of ten can try their luck in our Lucky Egg Dip. You never know – it may just be your little one who picks the ‘big one’!

Crunch-bustingCrunch-busting new set menus
With everyone affected by the credit crunch we’ve thought of a way to help you beat it by reducing the price of our set dinner menus. Two courses now cost £17.95 and three courses are just £21.95. Dinner is served Tuesday to Sunday from 7pm, and the set menus are available Tuesday to Friday; we offer our a la carte menu on Saturdays and a special menu on Sundays. So now there’s really no reason to treat yourself.

Don’t forget to join us for Saturday and Sunday lunch too: two courses are £12.95 and three courses cost £14.95.

Recently, we’ve helped our guests celebrate a number of special occasions, giving Jason and his team a chance to be even more creative in the kitchen. The possibilities are endless and we’re here to help you create the perfect event – whether it’s a wedding reception, anniversary celebration or a special birthday. Spring is here and with it so much more variety in the kitchen! With a wide selection of fresh produce being merely days away, it’s time to dust off the recipe books and look for new ways to serve delicious Scottish produce at the restaurant. We’re extremely lucky also to work with a number of great, local suppliers, many of them small businesses like ours, who are as passionate about food as we are. In this newsletter, we thought we’d introduce you to some of them, including our fish supplier Neptune’s Larder, without whom we wouldn’t be serving the dish featured in this edition’s recipe, Thai marinated mackerel. This zesty and refreshing dish is ideal for Spring. It’s easily made and best served with a raw oriental salad and egg noodles. I like to make it for a group of friends or simply serve it as a starter. It can also be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge for several days. Read more
